When & how started your relationship with Komori?

For more than 30 years Carlton is a partner of Komori. Ever since the Komori showroom opened, guests and employees have been staying at the hotel. In this long period we also really feel that we have bonded with employees of Komori who frequently stay here.

Can you also tell a bit more about the work you are doing?

The Carlton President not only accommodates guests and employees, but is also a partner for projects. Think about catering at the office or hosting drinks in our private bar. A lot of great memories we also have during the Open Houses when the hotel is almost fully booked and we are welcoming a lot of international guests.

What do you like about working together with Komori?

Some employees stay here on a very regular basis. We are here to make them feel at home and when you have been working together for so long you also go that extra mile. If there are specific wishes for rooms or specific food we will make it work. Or even some Komori employees are eating with our staff. As if they were sitting at the kitchen table at home. It also sometimes really feels like family when an familiar person walks in. When corona came, we really missed the Komori guests.

Besides the guests, we have a lot of contact with Marion de Rouw. I am a general manager for 10 years and I really appreciate the partnership with Marion. She can say what she thinks and what she wants. The honesty and clear communication is so helpful and I really like that. And it also works the other way around, I can share my thoughts and ideas and this in the ends reinforce the collaboration.

Do you have special memories or anecdotes to tell about working with Komori?

We have several good memories;

I remember well that some time ago, someone who came here often, told me he was becoming a grandfather. When the grandchild was born, we all celebrated it at the bar and pictures were shown.

I (Maxine) share the same birthday as Robin de Witte. We send each other a congratulations message and in the following week, we sometimes eat a small cake at the bar.

Sometimes there as wishes for a specific food, I remember one time there was a specific wish for sate. So next time, we had brought in enough sate. And guess what? They didn’t want it. The freezer was full with > 80 sates

 And unfortunately for the readers; “What happens at the bar, stays in the bar”.

Do you have any future outlooks or anniversary wishes for Komori?

Let's work together for another 100 years! We wish Komori all the best, it is a great partner and a pleasant cooperation. We hope to continue this in good harmony for years to come.
